Zucchero Nero – which means Black Sugar in Italian – is the sweet culmination of over two decades of passion, creativity, and love for traditional Italian baking.

Founded in 2025 by Mirella and Peter, Zucchero Nero is more than just a bakery – it’s a slice of Italy in every bite. Together, they bring a perfect balance of artistry and authenticity to everything they make.

A seasoned pastry chef with more than 20 years of experience, Mirella pours her heart into every delicate, hand-crafted pastry and bold, beautiful celebration cake. Beside her, Peter, the master baker behind Zucchero Nero’s signature breads, brings to life the rustic traditions of Italian baking – from crusty ciabattas and pillowy focaccias to hearty loaves made fresh each morning.

Born from their shared dream to bring the rich flavours and warm spirit of Italian kitchens to their local community, Mirella and Peter have created a space where quality, beauty, and heritage come together. Every product is made with the finest ingredients, a deep respect for tradition, and a flair for the modern.
